3 1 LETTER from Chairman, Marin County Board of Supervisors,
advising that Marin County has voted to support a lot-
tery as a new revenue source for the State of
California, and urging that Contra Costa County give
serious consideration to support of the effort

1 (County Administrator) AUTHORIZED the County Assessor
to provide data for the State Board of Equalization to
assist in the State' s defense of its assessments of
railroads and APPROVED an appropriation adjustment of
$5, 000 to provide financing for same
2 (County Administrator ) AUTHORIZED an appropriation
adjustment of $37,100 to reconstruct and improve three
Sheriff's radio towers, one collapsed in the storm, and
the others are similarly constructed
3 (County Administrator) AUTHORIZED an appropriation
adjustment of $8, 949 for County Sanitation District 19
to provide a standby power unit and emergency well
improvements
4 (Torlakson) APPOINTED Richard Crumpler , nominee of the
City of Antioch, to the Board of Commissioners of the
Riverview Fire Protection District
5 (Torlakson) REFERRED petition for street improvements
on the west side of Bailey Road, West Pittsburg area, to
the Public Works Director for review, the Public Works
Director is also REQUESTED to work with the community
group and assist them in exploring feasible methods for
completing the improvements
6 (Powers) ADOPTED Resolution No 83/200 commending
John Marin on the occasion of his retirement after 42
years of county service
7 (Powers) REQUESTED the County Administrator to
determine if the Assessor has sufficient staff of ade-
quately prepare the County' s case in hearings before the
Assessment Appeals Board
8 (Powers) REQUESTED the County Administrator and the
Director , Community Services Department to review the
City of San Pablo' s refusal to accept a grant offered
by the Community Services Administration in view of the
affect on the low-income in said area
9 (County Administrator ) ADOPTED a resolution approving
compensation and benefits for employees in the Fire
Suppression and Prevention Unit represented by United
Professional Firefighters, I A F F , Local 1230, effec-
tive January 1, 1983

support of Project Independence, a proposal to strengthen
