IN THE MATTER OF RECOGNIZING CONTRA RESOLUTION NO. 2008/188
COSTA COUNTY'S SISTER-COUNTY
RELATIONSHIP WITH TAICHUNG COUNTY,
TAIWAN
WHEREAS, the residents of Taichung County are the government's main focus and people's
livelihood is the first priority; and
WHEREAS, the Taichung—Coiitra Costa Sister: .Co' u.hty:.relationship: was officially established in
1983 with the possibility::.-that, such,.a. relationship:-rnay advance::.cultural and commercial
Understanding,- and..,
WHEREAS, it::is .unportant. to ,foster and. maintain Sister County relationships through cultural
exchanges and social�visits; and
WHEREAS; Contra Costa County looks forward to establishing a strong partnership 'in the future
with its Sister County of Taichung to create opportunities for mutual:. visits 'bys citizens,
business;.. educational,. and community leaders as. well As. the potential for conhtnercial
opportunities and the exchange of ideas,and
WHEREAS, the: mutual„benefit and;..greater: friendship between :our dynamic and diverse counties
can .be :recognized=through,the. sh..ari.ng of ideas;,best practices:;for governiiicnt,::;a:nd economic
