HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 06032004 - 94-37 S ,3 IN TI-CIE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Resolution No. 94/37 Honoring Judge David Aubry Dolgin upon his Retirement from the Contra Costa County Superior Court WBERF.AS,Judge David Aubry Dolgin was appointed by Governor Brown,Jr., to succeed the late Judge Jackson Davis on June 8, 1977. He was elected in 1978 and re-elected in 1984 and 1990; before being appointed to serve on the bench of the Contra Costa Superior Court,Judrully, Dolg�'n spent many years in private law practice in Martinez. He was senior partner of Dolgin, &Jameson and a partner in Condon&Dolgin; WFIEl[tEAS, Judge Dolgin served as counsel to Concord American Little League and worked with the Contra County Board of Supervisors and Office of Economic Opportunity in creating the Public Defender's Office and Legal Services Foundation. He also served as a Contra Costa County Law Library Trustee in 1983 and again from 1985 through 1987; WHEREAS, he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley in 1942 and went on to acquire a Juris Doctor of Law Degree from Hastings College of the Law; VV.HEREAS, he served in the U.S.Army Air Corps now the U.S.Air Force and flew B-17 bombers in the Europe during World War II; ,Judge Dolgin is a member of the California Judges Association and Alameda Contra Costa Lawyers Association.Served as Disciplinary Referee Pro Tempore, California State Bar Association. WHEREAS, still finds time to find time to pursue his love for antique cars,tennis and racquetball and tournament bridge (where he is an internationally ranked player); VVH�REAS,his retirement will allow him even more time to spend with his devoted wife Jeannine and his children and stepchildren; NOW,THFRF.FORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Board of Supervisors hereby commends Judge David Dolgin for his many years of dedicated and committed service to Contra Costa County and congratulates him on his retirement. 1994.
