WHEREAS the anticipated growth and development of the arinda area in the County of Centra Costa (including the construction of the Bay Area Rapid Transit System) requires the improvement of sev- eral arterial streets such as the reconstruction and widening of Camino ''Pablo between Miner Road and Bear Creek .Road; and WHEREAS Camino Pablo is a portion. of PAS Route 791 , and is an essential element in. the City County 'thoroughfare, System and the Select System of County Roads and City street's, whichhas been adopted by the Board of Supervisors; and W3RFAS the proposed project provides for the reconstruction, of Camino Pablo on new alignment between Miner Read and Bear Creek Road as shown on the precise alignment ;clan, for Camino Pablo, adopted by the Board of Supervisors on ismary 30, 1968, and con- forms to the Faster Plan of the County; and WHEREAS construction is proposed to start in Spring, 1972; and WiAS the total estimated cost of said project, which is principally within, the urban area, is estimated to be $1,18OtOO4; and WHEREAS >the County, Prior to advertising for bids, will have acquired by purchase or condemnations the right of way necessary for the improvement*,*, and WHEREAS the County has considered' the effect of the proposed financing in rolat en to the statutory f4lmula contained in Section 188 et seq. of the Streets and highways Code; and WGXMS Section 1433 or the Streets and Highways Code, California Statutes., provides that the California 'Highway Commission may maker an allocation of funds for the extension of a Federal Aid. Secondary route into, or within, an 'urban area as such areas are designated` by the Bureau of Public Roads; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL'V'ED by the Beard of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa as follows: RESOLUTION NO. 70182 1. That the County of Contra Costa hereby requests the California Highway Connission to allocate funds pur- suant to Rection 143.3 of the Streets and Highways Code for the reconstruction, and construction on new alignment of that 1.30 section of Camino Pablo between Minor Hod and Bear Creek Road, as an urban extension of FAS Route 7941 in the amount of $500,,000- 2. The County agrees to pay as its portion., the remain- ing coast of the project, and further agrees that the work will be performed in conformance with the stan- dards applicable to Federal Aid Secondary, Urban Hxtension pro 3octa.
