HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 06032003 - 70-233 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of ) Observance of) RESOLUTION NO. 70/233 Holidays . ) 'WHEREAS the County, as a subdivision of the State Govern- ment, has heretofore observed State holidays designated in Government Code Sections 6700 and. 6701; and WHER AS Government Code Section 6700 was emended, by the 1969 Session of the California State `Legislature to provide that "except for the Thursday in November 'appointed as Thanksgiving Day, this subdivision shall not apply to a city, county or district unless made applicable by charter or by ordinance or resolution of the governing body thereof" and WHEREAS the Board has this day determined that the county should continue the practice of observing State holidays; NOW, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED that the present versions of Government Code Sections 6700 and 6701 are made applicable in Centra Costa County; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED' that consideration of an ordinance making amendments to these sections applicable after January 1, 1971 is continued for further attention prior to December 1, 1974. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21sT day of April, 1970, by the following vote of the Board; AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenny, A. M. Dias, J. E. Moriarty, E. A. Linscheid, T. J. Cull.. NOES: Nene.
