In. the Matter of A kAowledging }
the California Oil Spill Disaster RESOLUTION NUMBER 70/23'
Contingency Plan'.
WHEREAS the State of California has prepared the
"California Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Plan" to establish an
integrated and 'effective state organization to combat massive oil
spills in and about the State of California; and
WHEREAS said plan is a state extension of the "National.'
Multi-Agency nil and Hazardous Materials Pollution Contingency
Fran"; and
WHEREAS the pavan provides for the response,, organization,
and actions by the state in all 'instances of major oi,l spills
whether or not the circumstances require activation of the: national
plan; and
WHEREAS the plan commits local gove3'rnnental agencies to
cooperation and performance in the event' of major oil spills.; and
WHEREAS the County of Contra Costa is potentially subject
to oil spills;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chairman of the
Bard of Supervisors is hereby authorized to sign on half of the
county' the form that acknowledges the receipt and awareness of the
"California Oil', Spill Disaster Contingency Plan"% the significance`
of which is contained in the "Cooperative Agreement to establish
California' Oil. 'Spill Disaster Contingency Plan,"; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Contra Costa County
Disaster Office is designated as the local coordinating agency for
operations undertaken pursuant to the provisions of the "California
Coil Spill. Disaster Contingency Plan"
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of January, 1970, by the
following vote of the Boards
