HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 06032003 - 70-217 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Endorsing ) Senate Bill Number 305- RESOLUTION NUMBER 70/217 WHEREAS this Board has reviewed the provisions of Senate :Bill Number 305 as amended on April 2, 1970; and. WHEREAS said _bill ;provides an appropriate and equitable basis for coinpeneating counties for lass of revenue due to business inventory tax exemptions and WHEREAS any loss of revenue resulting from said business inventory tax exemptions may result in increased tax levies on other classes of property, inclusive of residential properties; and WHEREAS the property tax burden has continued to become increasingly onerous; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it hereby ENDORSES Senate Bill Number 305 as amended on April 2, 1970 and urges approval of said proposed legislation; and BE IT BY THE BOAR} FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board is DIRECTED to dispatch a telegram to Senator Walter W. Sti.ern, Chairman, Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee, advising him of the position of this Board and BE IT BY THE BOARD FURTHER RSOLVED that the Contra Costa County representatives in the California State Legislature also be advised of aforesaid endorsement. PASSED and ADOPTED this 14th day of April, 1970 by the following vote of the Board: AYES, Supervisors J. P. Kenny, A. M. Bias, J. F. Moriarty, E. A. Linscheid, T. J. Coll. NOES: None .
