In the Matter of the Retirement } RESOLUTION NUMBER 70/201
of Mr. Frank W. Salfingere }
from Public Office. }
}
WHEREAS Mr. Frank W. Salfingere, Vice-Mayor, City of
Pleasant Hill, California, is retiring from public office after a
long ,and distinguished career in the public service; and
WHEREAS Mr. Salfingere entered the U. S. Army as a private
in World War I and retired in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. in
1952 and thereafter worked for a decade in the Contra Costa County
Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS Mr. Salfingere was an ardent supporter of the
incorporation of the community of Pleasant Hill as a city, became
one of the first city councilmen in 1961, and during his eight year
tenure as a councilman served as Mayor and Vioe--Mayor; and
WHEREAS Mr. Salfingere was a Leading figure in official and
unofficial roles in providing a water supply, park, and other
i; facilities for the Pleasant Hill area; and
WHEREAS Mr. Salfingere also found time to engage actively
3' in community affairs through membership in service club, chamber of
commerce, and homeowners groups.
NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY
OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it extends to Mr. Frank W.
Salfingere its sincere compliments on his outstanding record of
public service, expresses to him its deep appreciation for his suc-
cessful efforts in the interests of the people of the City of
Pleasant Hill and the County of Contra Costa, and wishes for him
a long and contented life in retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of April, 1970 , by the
following vote of the Board:
AYES: Supervisors J. F. Kenny, A. M. Dias,.
J. E. Moriarty, E. A. Linschei+d, T. J. Coll.
NOES: None.
