In the Matter of Eadorsement )
of Drug Abuse Prevention
Program of Pittsburg Drug RESOLUTION NUMBER 70/172
Therapy Center, Inc. )
WHEREAS the Pittsburg Drug, Therapy Center, Inc. , has
developed a drug abuse prevention program for the community of
Pittsburg; and
WHEREAS said Center has received strong support from
all segments of the Pittsburg community; and
SEAS said Center is in reed of financial aid and
professional assistance in order to continue its operations
effectively; and
WHEREAS it appears that the drug abuse prevention
program of the Pittsburg, Drug Therapy Center, Inc might be
appropriately included under the County Short-Doyle Community
Mental Health Program; and
WHEREAS the financial assistance required by said
Center for the remainder of the fiscal year 1969-1970 (April 1,
1970 through Junes 30, 1974) is in the amount of $5,916 and in
connection therewith psychiatric consultation and out-patient
and in-patient support can be provided through existing facilities
of the county mental health program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that the
drug abuse ;prevention program of the Pittsburg Drug Therapy Center,
Inc. is hereby endorsed and the County Medical Director, County
Counsel, and the County Administrator are directed to cooperatively
develop a proposed agreement between the County of Contra Costa
and said Center' for the 'provision of financial and professional
assistance to the Center; and
BE IT BY THE BOARD FURTHER RESOLD that said agreement
shall outline the community support responsibilities of said
Center as well as the aforesaid county mental, health program
responsibilities; and
BE IT BY THE BOARD FURTHER RESOLVED that said agreement
shall not be effective until approved by, the `'Board of Supervisors
and the California State Department of Mental Hygiene.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 31st day of Mauch, 1974, by the
following vote of the Board:
AYES. Supervisors J. P. Kenny, A. M. Dias,
J. E. Moriarty, E, A Linschaid,
T. J. Coll.
