IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming period of April 20 through April 25, 1970 as NATIONAL RESOLUTION NO. 70/166 SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK. WHEREAS School Bus Safety Week will be observed nationwide during the week of April 20 through April 25* 1970; and WHEREAS . the outstanding safety record of the school bus drivers in daily transporting over 1.5 million California students merits public commendation and recognition; and WHEREAS school buses transport over 19.5 million students yearly, and it has been determined that a school bus ride is one of the safest rides,* and WHEREAS safe student transportation on school buses has acquired great importance due to the Increasingly heavy traffic on our streets and highways throughout the State; and WHEREAS School Bus Safety Week is an ideal time for all citizens to rededicate themselves to promote safety on our streets and highways by exercising caution and courtesy in driving; NOW, THEREFORE, EE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it does hereby PROCLAIM the period from April 20 to April 25, 1970 as SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK in Contra Costa County. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of March, 1970 by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenny, A. M. Dias, J. E. Moriarty, E. A. Linseheid, T. J. Coll, NOES: None. ABSENT: None, RESOLUTION NO. 70/166
