In the matter of the )
Lanterman-Petris-Short Act ) RESOLUTION NO. 70h50
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
1. Paragraph 1 of R solution 69/401 as amended, by Resolu-
tion 69/857 is hereby rescinded and the following paragraph
substituted
1. (a) "The County Hospital is hereby designated as a
facility for 72-hour treatment and evaluation, and in respect
thereto all physicians and surgeons , clinical psychologists and
marriage counselors licensed to practice in California, and
Troy G. Grove,, a Social Work Supervisor; III ' of the County Social
Service Department , hereby designated the professional persons
referred to in Welfare & Institutions Code S515O."
(b) "Pursuant to Article 1.5 of Chapter 2, Part 1,
Division 5 of the 'Welfare & Institutions Code, (§5170 to 5176)
effective' November 10., 1969 and in particular §5176, suitable
facilities exist in the city of Martinez, in Contra Costa County,
for the care and treatment of inebriates, namely the Contra Costa
County Hospital above referred to In paragraph 1(a) . ,Said County
Hospital is hereby designated -a facility for 72-hour' treatment
and evaluation and: in respect thereto the same persons designated
.n said paragraph l(a) are hereby designated the professional
persons referred to in Welfare & Institutions Code §5170 ."
(c) "Any physician employed by the Veterans Adminis-
tration within the State of California,, is hereby designated, as
a professional person authorized by this county to take or cause
to be taken, a person into custody and to place him in a facility
designated by the county as a facility for 72-hour treatment and
evaluation.
2. Paragraph 2 of Resolution 69/401 as amended by Resolu-
tion No. 69/857 is hereby rescinded and the following paragraph
substituted.
(a) "The County Hospital and the State Hospital at
Imola, California, also known as the papa State Hospital , are
both hereby designated intensive treatment facilities authorized
to .provide intensive treatment for an initial period of 14 days
pursuant to Sections 5152, 5172, 5230 and 5250 and other related
sections of the Welfare & Institutions >Code' and for an addition-
al period of 14 days pursuant to Section 5260."'
(b) "Hospitals of the Veterans Administration located
in the State of California; are hereby designated for eligible
veterans as approved facilities of this county for 72--hour treat-
ment and evaluation, for court< ordered 'evaluation, for 1'4--day
intensive' treatment , for 14-day additional intensive treatment,
