WHEREAS, the Governing Beard of Lafayette School District
(hereinafter called the;i"'district" ) has called and ordered to be
held in the district on Tuesday,;, June 2, '1970 a special school
distriet Maximum Tax Rate Election, and has requested the Board of
Supervisors of Contra Costa County to consent to and the Counter
Superintendent of Schools of Centra Costo, County to order 'a consol-
idation of said special school district Maximum Tax Rate Election
with the Direct' Primary Election to beheld in Contra Costa County;
and throughout the State of California,,' on Tuesday, June 2, 1970 and
has further authorized this 'Board of Supervisors to canvass or cause
to be canvassed` the returns of said Maximum Tax Rate Election from
the territory affected by said consolidation.
NOW, THEREFORE BE >1T RESOLVED by the Beard of Supervisors of
Contra ICosta County as follows;
1. The special school >district 'Maximum Tax Rate Election to be
held in Lafayette School District on Tuesday,, June 22 1970 at which
election there shall, be <submitted to the >quaIlified electors of said
district the measure hereinafter' set forth, to grit;

be and the same is hereby ccsns.oli.dated with the Direct Primary

of California$; on Tuesdaysu- ne> 2, 197 , and this Board hereby
consents to said consolidation.
. The returns cif said special school district Maximum Tax
Rate Election from said territory affected by said consolidation
shall be canvassed by the Board'. of Supervisors of Contra rCosta County
in accordance with the request of the Governing Board of the district
and said consolidated special school di.stri.c I t, Maximum Tax Rate
Election and Direct Primary Election, shall be, held within said
territory affected by said consolidation in all respects as though
there were only one election. Said measure `shall be set 'forth in
each fora of ballot to be used at said Direct Primary Election
insofar as the same is held within said territory affected by said
consolidation.> The returns of 'said;, special 'school district Maximum
'fax Rate Election in said territory', when canvasseds shall be
reported by this B*ard of Supervisors to the governing Burd of
the district and to said County' Superintendent of Schools.
3. The County Clerk of said County is 'hereby ordered and
directed to provide within said terri.tory affected by said ccnsol'i -
datian the election precincts, polling places and voting booths for
each of said elections hereby consolidated, `which in each case shall
be the same, and there shall, be only one set of election officers
In each of said precincts. Said County Clerk is further' ordered and
directed to print ;upon each of ' the >ballcts to be used at said Direct
Primary Electors within said territory affected by said consolidation
said measure set forth in Section 1 of this resolution. Said County
Clerk is further ordered and directed (i) td set Forth on all sample
ballots relating to said Direct Primary Slecti.on and. to to mailed
to th6i uAli `.ied eledtors of the district within said territory
affected by said consolidation said district measure , and to mail
to said qualified electors of the district in said territory said
sample ballots and also polling ;place cards signed by said County
Clerk relating to said special school district Maxi.mu Tax Rate
Election in the time and in the form' required by law, and (il) to
provide absent 'grater ballots for said Direct Primary Election and
said special school'' district Maximum 'fax Rate Election hereby consol-
idated therewith for use by the qual .fie electors df' the 'distri.ct
within said territory affected by said consolidation who may be
entitled to such absent voter ballots in 'the 'manner praVi ed by last.
The County Clerk is furth+sr authorized to charge to the district the
a.ddi.ti.onal ''expense of printing upon the sample and official ballots
for use .in said territory said district measdre to be submitted to>
the qualified effectors of the district , and such. gather i.nci.dental
expenses as may be incurred solely by reason of thisorder of
consolidation, In a minimum amount of $12.00 for each precinct< in
the said district.
4 Certified copies of this resolution-shall be forwarded by
the County 'Clerk to the ''Governing Board of the district and to the
County Superintendent of Schools.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of Centra Costa
County this> 17th day of March, 1970 by the following vote:
