WHEREAS, the Caverning ';Board of Sten 'Raman Valley Unified School
District (hereinafter called' the 14districtft) has called and ordered
to be held In the district on Tuesday , June 2, 1970 a special school
district Maximum Tax Rate Election, and has requested the 'Board of
Supervisors of Contra Costa- County to consent to and the County
Superintendent of Schools of Contra Costa County to order a eonsoli--
dati.on> of said ',special school district Maximum Tax Rate Election with
the Direct Primary Election to be. hold in Camra Costa County and
throughout the State of California, do Tuesday , June 2, 1970, and
has further authorized this Board of Supervisors to canvass or cause
to be canvassed` the returns of said Maximum Tax Rate Election from
the territory Affected by said consolidation.

NOW, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of
Contra Costa County as follows :
1. The special school district', Maximum Tax :Rate Election to
be held in San Damon Valley Unified School District on Tuesday, June 2,,
1970 at which election there shall be submitted to the qualified
electors of said district the measure hereinafter' set` forth, to wit :

be and the same is hereby consolidated with the Direct Primary
Election "tri be held in Contra Costa County, and. throughout 'the 'State
of California, on Tuesday, Tune 2.>, 1.970, and this Board hereby '
consents to said consolidation.
2 The returns ' of said ;special schoo11 district Maximum Tax
Mate Election from said territory` affected by said consolidation
shall be canvassed by the Board of Super v,13ors of Contra Cosh
County in accordance with the request of the Governing Board of the
district and said consolidated special school district Maximum Tax
Rate Election and Direct Primary Election shall be Meld within said
territory affected by said consolidation in all respects as though
there were only one election, Said measure shall be set forth in
each form of ballot to be used at said. Direet Primary Election
insofar• as the same is held within said territory affected by said
consolidation. The returns of said special school:' district Maximum
Tax Rate Election in said territory, when canvassed, stall be
reported by this Board. of Supervisors to the Governing ,,Board of
the dist'rict's and to said 'County Superintendent of Schools.
3 The County Clerk of said County is hereby ordered and
directed to provide within said territory affected by said consoli-
dation the election precincts , polling places and voting booths for
each of said elections hereby consolidated ., which in each case shall
be the same,,; and there shall, be only one set of election officers
in each of said precincts'. Said County Clerk is further ordered
and directed» to print upon each of the ballots' to be used at said
Direct Primary Election within said territory affected by said
consolidation said measure set forth in Section 1 of this resolution.
Said County Clerk is 'further ordered and directed �i� to set forth
on all sample ballots relating to said: Direct Primary Election and
to be mailed';, to the qualifiedelectors of the district 'within said
territory affected by said consolidation said district measure.,
and to mall to said qualified electors of the district In said
territory said sample halloIts' and also poll.ingi place cards signed
by said County Clerk relating to said special 'school district Maxi-
mum`Tax 'Rate Election .in the time> and' in the farm required by law,,
and (ii) to provide absent voter ballots for said Direct Primary
Election and said special school district iMaximum Tax Rate Election``
hereby c=onsolidated therewith for us* by the qualified electors of
the district' within said 'territory affected by, said consolidation
who may be entitled to such absent voter ballots in the manner pro-
vided by lair. The County Clerk is further authorized to charge to
the district' the additional expense of printing upon the sample: and
official ballots for< use >in said territory said district measure to
be submitted to the qualified electors of the 'district, and such
other incidental`` expenses as may be incurred solely by reason of
this order of consolidation, in a minimum amount or $12.00 for each
precinct in the ' said district.
4. Certified copies of >.this resolution shall'' be forwarded by
the County Clerk to the Governing Beard of the di.sltriot and to the
County Superintendent of Schools.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Beard of Supervisors of Contra costa`
County this 17th day of March, 1970 by the following vote:
