WHEREAS this Beardhas been advised that Senate Bill Number 375 related to the relocation of utility facilities> has been introduced in the 1970. Session of the California State Legislature; and WHEREAS said bill provides ;that a public agency having jurisdiction over public roads and highways shall pay the cost of relocation of publicly owned utility facilities if they were installed according to standards applicable to the read or high- way and were accepted by the public agency whether or not the agency, had jurisdiction over the road' or highway at time of installation; and WHEREAS the passage, of said bill would result in unjustifiable shifting of costs from 'utilities to public agencies; and WHEREAS the Public Works Di'rector and the County Administrator recommend that the Board strongly oppose the'., passage of Senate Bill Number 375> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it hereby opposes the passage' of Senate Bill Number 375 and '`urges the Contra Costa County >representatives in the California State Legislature' to work vigorously to prevent passage» of said pro- posed Legislation.
