HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 06032003 - 70-137 RESOLUTION NO. 70/137 BOARD OF SUPERVISORSOF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY In the Mager of the Consolidation � of a Special School District maximum � Tax Rate Election to be held in CANYON ) SCHOOL DISTRICT of Contra Costa County � with the Direct Primary Election to be � held June 2,; 1970. } WHEREAS, the Governing Board of Canyon School District> (hereinafter called the "district" ) has called and ordered to be held In the district on Tuesday, June >'2, 1970 a special' school district Maximum''Tax Rate' Ele tion, and has requested the Board'' of Supervisors of Contra Costa County to iconsent to and the County` Superintendent of Schools of Contra Costa County to order a' consoli- dation of said special school district Maximum Tax Rate Election with the Direct Primary Election to be held in Contra Costa County and throughout the Stateof California,, on Tuesday, June 2,' 1970 and has further authorized this Board of Supervisors to canvass or cause to he canvassed the returns of said Maximum max Rate Election from the, territory affected by said consolidation. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors 'of Contra Crista ; County as follows: 1.', The special school district Maximum Tax Rate Election to be held' In 'Canyon School District on 'Tuesday, June 2, 1970' at whieh election,' there shall be submitted to the qualified 'electors; of said district the measure hereinafter sot forth. to 'wit CA TE D TR; C MAXIMUM TAX 9 RATE MEASURE MFIT the proposed i cre se n the s a t mug tax rates :for Canyon Sc,bool District of Contra Costa County from YES:' $2.50 to $4.5.0 on each $10:0 of assessed Valuation, such rate to be in effect` for an indefinite period of time commencing duly 13, 1970, the 'revenues of which are to be : NO :used for general' fund expenditures, be authorized?» RESOLUTION N(% 70/1.3? be and the same is hereby consolidated with the Direct Primary Election to be held in Contra Costa County , and throughout the State of California, on Tuesday , June 2, 1970 and this Boardhereby consents to said consolidation. 2. The returns of said `»special school district Maximum Tax Rate Election from said terri'tory'' affooted by said consolidation shall be canvassed by the Board of Supervisors of Contra Casts, County in accordance with the request of the Governing Board of the district and said consolidated special, school 'district 'Maximum Tax Rate Election and Direct Primary Election shall be held within said territory affected by said consolidation in all respects as though there were only rine election.' Sa d. measure shall be set forth in each form of ballot to be used at said Direct 'Primary Election insofar' as the same is held within said territory affected by said consolidation. The returns of said special, school ' district' Maximum Tax Rate Election in said territory, when >eanvassed, shall, be reported by this: Board of Supervisors to the Governing Board of the district and to said County Superintendent of Schools. 3. , The County Clerk of said County is hereby; ordered and directed to provide within said territory ;affected by said consoli- dation the election precincts , polling places ;and voting booths for each of said elections hereby consolidated;, which in each case shall be the same , and there shall be only one set of election officers in each of said precincts. Said County Clerk is further ordered and 'directed> to print upon each of the ballots<' to be used at said .Direct Primary Election within said territory affected by said consolidation said measure set forth In Section 1 of this resolution. Said County Clerk is further ordered and directed (I) to set forth on all sample ballots relating to said Direct ;Primary Election and 70 /137 to be mailed to the qualified electors of the 'district within said to.rIri'tvey affected by said consolidation said 'district measure, and to mail to said qualified electors of the 'district in said territory said sample ballots and also ,polling place cards signed by said County Clerk relating to said special school d'istriet Maximum Tax Rate Election in the time and' in the form required, by law, and '(ii)'» to provide absent voter ballots for said Direct Primary Election and said special school. district Maximum Tax Date Election hereby consoli- dated therewith for use by the qualified electors of the district within said °territory affected by said consolidation who may be entitled to such absent voter ballots in the manner provided by laws. The County Clerk is further authorized to 'charge to the district the additional expense of printing upon the sample and official ballots' for use In said territory said district measure to be submitted to the qualified electors of the district, and such other Incidental expenses as may be incurred solely by reason of this order of consoli- dation,' in a minimum'' amount of $12.00 for each precinct in the said district., 4. ' Certified copies of this resolution shall be forwarded by the County Clerk to the Governing Board of the district and to the County Superintendent of Schools.
