HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 05012001 - 2001-109 f Pa THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of.Declaring May 2001 as ) MOTORCYLE A WARENESS MONTH ) In Contra Costa County ) RESOLUTION NO. 2 00 1/109 WHEREAS, motorcycle riding is a popular form of recreation and efficient transportation for more than 400,00.0 people in California: and WHEREAS, the safety hazards created by automobile operators due to the difficulty of seeing smaller objects on the streets and highways of Contra Costa County are of prime concern to motorcyclists; and WHEREAS, it is especially important that the citizens of our county be aware of motorcycles on the streets and highways and recognize the importance of motorcycle safety; and WHEREAS, the American Brotherhood Aimed Towards Education of California (ABATE) is an organization that`is actively promoting safe operation, increased rider training,and increased motorist awareness of motorcycles. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors declare May 2001 as MOTORCYCLE A WARENESS MONTH in Contra Costa'County.and urges both motorcvcle riders and automobile drivers to follow the rules of the road so all citizens will remain safe from vehicle accidents and subsequent injuries.
