In the Municipal Courts ) Resolution No. 97!197
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
1 . Pursuant to the judicial coordination agreements signed in February and April of 1996,
the Judges of the Contra Costa County Municipal Courts have agreed to coordinate
with the Superior Court;
2. The current practice of paying a differential to Courtroom Clerks of the Municipal Courts
acting as Clerks in the Superior Court requires that the assignment of Superior Court
matters be for a minimum of two (2) consecutive weeks in duration;
3. Government Code Section 68546 provides that a Municipal Court Courtroom Clerk who
works for a Judge from the same Municipal Court assigned to handle Superior Court
Matters, shall receive the same salary as a Court Clerk normally assigned to the
Superior Court Judge;
4. Deputy Municipal Court Clerks are sometimes directed to work for Judges from other
Municipal Court districts assigned to Superior Court duties, and Deputy Clerks
sometimes work for Commissioners for the Municipal Court assigned to perform duties
for the Superior Court;
5. Deputy.Clerks in the Municipal Courts not covered by Government Code Section 68546
shall be eligible for a per diem differential when they are assigned to and perform work
as a Courtroom Clerk for a Judge from another judicial district or a Court Commissioner
who is assigned to handle Superior Court matters.
6. Effective April 1, 1997, the per diem differential will be determined in accordance with
County Salary Regulations governing pay for work in a higher class to commence on
the first day a Deputy Clerk of the Municipal Court acts as a Deputy Clerk of the
Superior Court.
7. The provisions of this resolution supersede any provisions of Resolution No. 93/710
inconsistent therewith.
