HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 04221997 - 97-189 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF: Resolution 97/189 Authorizing the Probation Officer ) to Apply for OCJP Grant funds ) to provide services to selected ) high risk youth and their families ) WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa desires to undertake a program to provide mentoring and prevention, intervention and treatment services to selected high risk youth and their families, through comprehensive coordination with law enforcement, schools, and community-based organizations; and WHEREAS the Office of Criminal Justice Planning (OCJP) is receiving applications for funding such a program; NOW THEREFORE BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA RESOLVED: that the County Probation Officer is authorized to submit a proposal for funding to OCJP for up to $250,000 for the period February 1,1997 through January 31, 1998, and to sign and approve on behalf of the Board of Supervisors the Grant Award Agreement, including any extensions or amendments thereto, to provide mentoring and prevention, intervention and treatment services to selected high risk youth and their families, through comprehensive coordination with law enforcement, schools, and community-based organizations; and IT IS AGREED that any liability arising out of the performance of this Grant Award Agreement, including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and the authorizing agency. The State of California and OCJP disclaim responsibility for any such liability; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant expenditures controlled by this body. PASSED and ADOPTED by the unanimous vote of the Board on the 22nd day of April 1997.
