In the Matter of Aligning the Salary
Range of Certain Classifications RESOLUTION NO. 97/130
With the 1997 Minimum Wage Rate.
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors Resolves that:
1. Effective March 1, 1997 the deep class of Student Worker (999E) is allocated to
salary range TB-0571 ($866-$1,773) with the hourly equivalent of the first step set
at $5.00 per hour in accordance with the 1997 Federal minimum wage rate.
2. An appointing authority may make a limited term appointment of a Student Worker
at the hourly equivalent of any level in the 30 step salary range. Guidelines for
appointment shall be as indicated. High School enrollment: Steps 1-10;
Community College enrollment or lower division status at a four-year college or
university: Steps 11-20; upper division status or post-graduate university
enrollment: Steps 21-30.
3. Effective March 1, 1997 Private Industry Worker Trainee-Project (AV 71) and
Private Industry Council Youth Trainee-Project (AV 72) are allocated to salary
range XF-1315 ($866-$2,167) with the hourly equivalent of the first step set at
$5.00 per hour in accordance with the 1997 Federal Minimum wage rate.
4. An appointing authority may make a limited term appointment of a Private
Industry Council Worker Trainee-Project and Private Industry Council Trainee-
Project at the hourly equivalent of any step in the 31 step salary range.
