Declaring Warch 25-29, 1996 as

Contra Costa County
`WJaP,EAS, the number of hungry people in Contra Costa County is
increasing, despite the efforts of local charities to provide food to residents in need.
Currently, the Contra Costa Food Bank and its network of 202 member agencies is
helping to feed more than 37,500 indtividuals every month, and the demand keeps
growing,
UfEM,EAS, local charities and jurisdictions are taking steps to improve this
situation, which threatens the health and well being of our community. The real
answers to the problem of hunger, however, require the education and participation of
all citizens of Contra Costa County.

Contra Costa County does hereby declare Warch 25 - 29, 1996, as 'MungerAwareness
ZWeeC to pu6Cuize this important issue and to garner additional support from alr
sectors of the community in the fight against hunger.
