HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 03191996 - 96-119 1. 7 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the matter of ratifying ) the County Administrator' s ) Proclamation of a Local ) 96/ 119 Emergency ) , WHEREAS, Section 42-2 . 802 of the County Ordinance Code empowers the County Administrator to proclaim a local emergency when the County is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity and the Board of Supervisors is not in session; and WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within this county caused by a major earth slide commencing on or about March 5, 1996 within the unincorporated community of Bay Point; and WHEREAS, this Board does hereby find that the aforesaid conditions of extreme peril did warrant and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency; and WHEREAS, the County Administrator did proclaim the existence of a local emergency within the county on March 15, 1996; NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED that said local emergency shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination by this Board; and ' IT IS ORDERED that a copy of this resolution and the County Administrator' s proclamation be forwarded to the Director of the State Office of Emergency Services with a request that he concur with this proclamation of a local emergency and that he find it acceptable in accordance with provisions of the Natural Disaster Assistance Act; and IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Mike Walford, County Public Works Director, is hereby designated as the authorized representative of the county for the purposes of receiving, processing and coordinating all inquiries and requirements necessary to obtain available State assistance.
