HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 07121994 - 94-344 99178 �dr¢� � SZG�S�'9/9Sd�'S 07 ed9t'7�'s,� e087,4 G�O'k9�'?l, �,�.c9�dL9r1 99l 70X8 =477SR 07 RSSO., *79091910. 94/344 Commending and congratulating FREDDIE GABRIEI, PETER ZAJAC and COACH BILL LUl of the Concord Table Tennis Club ?KSR54S, 11- year old Freddie Gabriel of EI Sobrante and 12-year old Peter Zajac of Concord, under the tutelage of Coach Bill Lui, have ascended to national prominence in table tennis competition in just 1-1/2 years' time. All three are members of the Concord Table Tennis Club, a not-far-profit organization celebrating its 22nd year of existence. W.10X5R5XS, in December of 1993, at the U.S. National Championships in las Vegas, Freddie captured First Places in the Under 1100 and Under 1400 Events, Second Place in Under 1200 and Semi-finalist finishes in Under 1300 and Under 1600 events. In the same tournament, Peter took First Places in the Under 1500 and Under 1600 events and was a Semi-finalist in the Under 13 junior event. 70WOREWS, both competed in the Tet Festival Tournament in Santa Clara in February where Peter finished in Third Place and Freddie in a tie for Fifth. This invitation-only tournament brings together the elite West Coast players. Freddie is currently ranked Fifth for boys under 12, while Peter is sixteenth among boys under 14. EREWS, a great deal of credit for their success must go to Coach Bill Lui, a USTTA certified State Coach, who is presently training about 10 juniors. Coach Lui, himself an outstanding player, provides valuable guidance to many of the club's adult members. Phil Schafer and Bob Partridge are two of the founding members of the Concord Table Tennis Club. 9W&W, WSRSWRS, 95 97 RSSOLdflED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County hereby commends and congratulates FREDDIE GABRIEI, PETER ZAJAC and COACH BILL LUI for their outstanding accomplishments in national table tennis competition and acknowledges the efforts of the Concord Table Tennis Club for their efforts in promoting table tennis competition in Contra Costa County.
