HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 03231993 - 93-126 /aa TIE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 93/126 Commending Ross Michael Johnson on Attaining the Rank of Eagle Scout Ross Michael Johnson is a member of Eagle Scout Post 153 of Antioch, California. He became involved in scouting 1986 in Cub Scouts and became a Boy Scout in May, 1990; WHEREAS, Ross became an Eagle Scout on November 10, 1992, and will be recognized at the Natonal Eagle Court of Honor on March 28, 1993; WHEREAS, as an Eagle Scout project, Ross dedicated 472 hours planning, developing and maintaing a vegetable garden from March 25, 1992, to August 14, 1992. He supervised a volunteer crew which included members of his troop and friends. They harvested 3,109 pounds of vegetables which they distributed to senior citizens,Loaves and Fishes,Brown Bag, Senior Day Care and the needy; WHEREAS, at 13 years old,Ross is not only one of the youngest scouts to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, but he successfully completed more merit badges than is required to achieve this rank. He is highly regarded by his fellow scouts and was just re-elected as Senior Patrol Leader. WHEREAS,Ross attends Holy Rosary Elementary School where he is an exem- plarystudent. He enjoys basketball and soccer and is in his third year as a California State Soccer referee. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPER- VISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, does hereby congratulate and commend Ross Michael Johnson on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and commends him for outstanding dedication to scouting,for helping the elderly and the needy, and for serving as a exemplary role model for other young people. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 23th day of March, 1993. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors of the date aforesaid.
