IN THE MATTER OF )
HONORING Detective Emmett C. Peck)
on his retirement from the )
Walnut Creek Police Department ) RESOLUTION NO. 91/321
WHEREAS, Detective Emmett C. Peck began his career in the, law
enforcement field 28 years ago and joined the Walnut Creek Police
Department on June 25, 1967; and
WHEREAS, through the years, Detective Peck has been assigned to the
patrol, traffic, special services, administration and investigations
divisions, and has had vast experience in fraud and forgery; and
WHEREAS, involvement with the community has been a high priority to
Detective Peck and he has received more than 60 formal commendations for
his contributions to both the community and the police department from
numerous groups including youth organizations, the California Commission
on Peace Officer Standards and Training and the Walnut- Creek City
Council; and
WHEREAS, Emmett C. Peck was chosen in 1971 by the California Jaycees
as one of three police officers statewide to attend the Junior Chamber' s
International Hemispheric Congress in Managua, Nicaragua; and
WHEREAS, Emmett has enthusiastically continued his education in his
chosen field by, among other things, graduating from the 120th session of
the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy in 1980, becoming
one of only three Walnut Creek. police officers to gain this distinction;
and
WHEREAS, Detective Peck will be retiring from the Walnut Creek
Police Department on May 31, 1991 and plans to pursue other interests
including spending time with his wife, Pat, his sons, Emmett, Jr. and
Thomas and his grandson, Garrett.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of
Contra Costa County THANKS Detective Emmett C. Peck for his many years of
service to the citizens of Contra Costa County and WISHES him success in
his future endeavors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of the Board members present on
this 21st day of May, 1991.
I hereby certify that the foregoing -is a true and correct copy of a
