HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 04161991 - 91-236 BOARD OF SUPERVIORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 91/236 Commending and Congratulating the Lions Clubs of District 4-0 on its Outstanding Efforts to Renovate the Lions Blind Center of Diablo Valley the Lions Clubs of District 4-C3, made up of the 57 Lions Clubs of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, have undertaken the ambitious project of renovating the Lions Blind Center of Diablo Valley, originally built in 1956 and located in Pittsburg, California; the project was funded through grants from the Lions Clubs International Foundation and the Contra Costa County Community Development Block Grant Program, and through fundraisers by the various Lions Clubs; many members from the various clubs donated their time and skilled labor to complete this project; WHEREAS,District 4-0 is one of only three districts worldwide that maintains two blind centers, located in Pittsburg and Oakland; the Lions Club has continually demonstrated a strong commitment to assisting th,;sight impaired citizens with a variety of programs; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CON'T'RA COSTA COUNTY,CALIFORNIA,does hereby commend the members of the Lions Clubs of District 4-0 on their dedicated commitment to assisting the visually impaired citi- zens of our community and.congratulates them on their tremendous efforts to renovate the Lions Blind Center of Diablo Valley. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 16th day of April, 1991.
