HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 05231989 - 89-323 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Congratulating the ) Jesse Orchard Post 2798 on its 56th ) Resolution No. 89/323 Anniversary and The Ladies Auxiliary ) on Their 55th Anniversary ) WHEREAS the Jesse Orchard Post 2798 Veterans of Foreign Wars will be celebrating their 56th anniversary on June 3, 1989 at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Rodeo; and WHEREAS the Jesse Orchard Post 2798 Ladies Auxiliary will be celebrating their 55th anniversary at the same time; and WHEREAS we are reminded that we remain a proud and free Nation largely due to our willingness to defend our freedoms to the death as well as the vitality of our democratic ideals; and WHEREAS so many peoples look with longing at our open and just society and that a number of nations have modeled their constitutions on ours reflects the enduring appeal of our free society; and WHEREAS the men and women of Jesse Orchard Post 2798 continue to serve their county as volunteers at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Martinez providing aid and comfort to those who are ill and often lonely. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa California, hereby COMMENDS the members of Post 2798 and the ladies of the Auxiliary and CONGRATULATES them both on their upcoming anniversaries. Passed and adopted on May 23, 1989, by unanimous vote of the Board members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered in the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
