HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 05031988 - 88-236 / 7 4 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming ) the Week of May 16-20, 1988 ) Resolution No. 88/236 "PEACE OFFICER MEMORIAL WEER" ) WHEREAS on Tuesday, May 17, 1988, at 1:30 p.m. there will be a PEACE OFFICERS' MEMORIAL CEREMONY on the State Capitol grounds at 10th and Capitol Mall; and WHEREAS the CALIFORNIA PEACE OFFICERS' MEMORIAL MONUMENT will be dedicated at this time; and WHEREAS this monument will include the nearly 900 names of officers who have died in the line of duty throughout California since 1850; and WHEREAS a portion of the memorial ceremony will be the enrollment of the names of 13 California peace officers who died in the line of duty during 1987; and WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors wishes to convey their respect for the men and women whose careers are dedicated to the protection of the people of California; and WHEREAS the dedication and sacrifice of America's police officers makes it possible for their fellow citizens to go about their business, raise their children and look to the future confident, secure, and free of fear; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California, hereby proclaim May 16-20 1988 as PEACE OFFICER MEMORIAL WEER. PASSED and ADOPTED by the unanimous vote of the Board on the third of May, 1988. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
