NOES: None .
ABSENT: Supervisor Schroder
ABSTAIN: None . RESOLUTION NO'. 88/128
SUBJECT: CALIFORNIA DRUG ABUSE IN THE SCHOOLS
PROGRAM - AB 1983 THE YOUTH CONNECTION
WHEREAS, the Sheriff-Coroner' s Office desires to
continue a project designated "The Youth Connection". funded
in part from funds made available through State General
Funds as authorized by Chapter 952 of the 1983 Statutes for.
the California Suppression of Drug Abuse in the Schools
Program, administered by the Office of Criminal Justice
Planning (hereinafter referred to as OCJP) .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Sheriff-Coroner is
authorized to execute on behalf of the Contra Costa County
Board of Supervisors the grant award for drug suppression
purposes, including any extensions or amendments thereof;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors agrees
to provide all matching funds required for said project
(including all extensions or amendments thereof) under this
Suppression of Drug Abuse in the Schools Program and the
rules and regulations of OCJP and that cash will be
appropriated, as required, thereby. NOTE: This . resolution
applies only to the fifth year of funding in the amount of
$227 ,111, for the period of July 1, 1988 through June 30 ,
1989; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder
shall not be used to supplant expenditures controlled by
this body.
