SUBJECT:
Application for Funds for the Vertical Defense of Indigents
Project, Office of the Public Defender
WHEREAS the County of Contra Costa desires to undertake a certain
project designated the Vertical Defense of Indigents Project to be funded
from funds made available through State General Funds as authorized by the
Budget Act of 1985, Vertical Defense of Indigents Program administered by the
Office of Criminal Justice Planning (hereafter referred to as OCJP) in the
amount of $94,114 in State funds for the period June 1,. 1986 to May 30, 1987;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chairman of the Board of .
Supervisors of the County of Contra- Costa is authorized, on its behalf, to
submit the attached application for grant funds for law enforcement purposes
to. 00JP and is authorized to execute on behalf of the Office of the Public
Defender the attached Grant Award for law enforcement purposes, including any
extentions or amendments thereof; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not
be used to supplant expenditures controlled by this body.
