HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 03041986 - 86-103 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming ) Loyalty Day in Contra Costa ) RESOLUTION NO. 86/103 County ) WHEREAS the 14th District, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) of the United States, Department of California, and their Ladies Auxiliary is comprised of both Alameda County and Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS the 14th District, VFW, will observe their 29th Annual Loyalty Day Observance Program under the direction of 14th District Commander James C. Jefferson of Alameda County and 14th District President Peg Berdan of the Ladies Auxiliary from Contra Costa County, to be held on Sunday, April 27, 1986 at 1:00 P.M. at the Richmond Veterans Memorial Building located at 968 23rd Street, Richmond, California, County of Contra Costa; and WHEREAS this Annual Observance is rotated each year between Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and includes as participants all veterans, veterans' organizations, Federal, State, County and City officials and citizens of both Counties; and WHEREAS the citizens of this County are extremely proud of this Nation's more than 200 year heritage of freedom, and are loyal to the ideals, traditions, and institutions which have made our Nation so great; and WHEREAS their obvious dedication to our way of life is indicative of a strong, continued desire to preserve the priceless American heritage; and WHEREAS they will be proud to stand up and publicly declare their determination toward actively and positively safeguarding our freedoms against any foreign or domestic enemies; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby PROCLAIM April 27, 1986 as an official day of Observance for Loyalty to our Nation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all American Flags shall fly on this day. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors COMMENDS the 14th District, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, the co-sponsors of this program, and the other veterans' organizations, veterans and citizens who are . serving on the Loyalty Day Committee and/or participating in the program. PASSED on March 4, 1986 by unanimous vote of the Board members present I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
