SUBJECT: AMENDING CHILD CARE INSTITUTION RATE SCHEDULE

SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION: Amending Child Care Institution Rate Schedule Board Resolution 83/892
establishing rates to be paid to child care institutions for FY 1983-84 to include
Wimbledon House at $1 ,768.00 per month, effective at the time of the Board action.
BACKGROUND:
Wimbledon House, P. 0. Box 517, Shingle Springs, California 95682, is licensed by the
State Department. of Social Services as a group home facility with two homes licensed
for six boys each and one home licensed for four boys, ages 11 to 18. This facility
accepts youngsters with severe emotional disturbances, prior histories of placement
failure, severe depression with suicidal tendencies and those with long histories of
school failure.
The Wimbledon House program stresses athletic training, discipline, the dynamics behind
good habits and the value and process of teamwork. Group therapy sessions are held
several times weekly and one to one counseling is provided to each boy. We request that
the Board approve the rate of $1 ,768.00 per month and add this facility to the child care
institution list for general use. This is a non-profit facility which is BAPC approved.
