HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011961 - RES-001 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Endorsing recommendation for appropri- ation by the United States Congress of $11,233,000 for the fiscal year 1962 for Bay Region navigational projects and related harbor works . WHEREAS, recommendation is being made to the United States Congress for the appropriation of $11,233,000 in the coming fiscal year for navigational projects and related harbor works, as developed by the Bay Region Marine Affairs Conference; and WHEREAS, attention has been called to the importance of these investigation, construction and maintenance projects to the region's economy and progress; and WHEREAS, these projects represent a reasonable and effi- cient ffi-cient level of performance and operations by the Corps of Army Engineers; and WHEREAS, the heavy rate of growth and development of this region, with special emphasis on population, industry and increasing use of waterways and commercial ship traffic, requires a consistent and imaginative improvement and expansion of navigable waters and harbors, as has been provided generally in the past by the Congress; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board endorses and supports the recommendation for the appropriation by the United States Congress of $11.,233,000 in the coming fiscal year for navi- gational projects and related harbor works, as developed by the Bay Region Marine Affairs Conference . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Honorable John F. Baldwin, Jr. , Congressman, the Honorable Thomas H. Kuchel and the Honorable Clair Engle, United States Senators, and to the House and Senate Civil Works Appro- priations Subcommittees .
