(ALTERNATIVE REAL PROPERTY ACCEPTANCE PROCEDURE)
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors ordains as follows
(omitting the parenthetical footnotes from the official text of
the enacted or amended provisions of the County Ordinance Code) :
SECTION I . SUMMARY. Pursuant to Government Code section 25350 . 60,
the public works director or his or her designated deputy is
hereby authorized to approved and accept on behalf of Contra
Costa County real property interests where the purchase price for
such interests does not exceed twenty-five thousand dollars
( $25, 000 ) .
SECTION II . Chapter 1108-8 is added to the County Ordinance
Code, to read:

ALTERNATIVE REAL PROPERTY PURCHASE AND
ACCEPTANCE PROCEDURE
1108-8 . 002 Authority of public works director. The board
of supervisors authorizes the public works director or his or her
designated deputy to perform all acts necessary to approve and
accept for the county the acquisition of any interest in real
property where the purchase price for such interest does not
exceed twenty-five thousand dollars ( $25, 000 ) . Such acquisitions
shall only be approved and done in accordance with current
appropriated budget accounts and applicable regulations . The
public works director shall report quarterly to the board of
supervisors on acquisition(s ) done pursuant to this section,
including the interest acquired, its price, area, and necessity
for the purchase.

1108-8 . 004 . Recording real property interest. For purposes
of this chapter, if the real property interest to be accepted is
in the form of a recordable document, the public works director
or his or her designated deputy shall accept the real property
interest for recordation pursuant to California Government Code
section 27281 and shall promptly file such real property interest
with the county recorder for recording.

SECTION III . EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance becomes effective 30
days after passage, and within 15 days after passage shall be
published once with the names of supervisors voting for and
against it in the Contra Costa Times , a newspaper
published in this County.
