ORDINANCE NO. 92- 36
(Repeal of Time Limits on
Political Sign Posting)
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors ordains as follows
(omitting the parenthetical footnotes from the official text of
the enacted or amended provisions of the County Ordinance Code) .
SECTION I . SUMMARY. This Ordinance amends Ordinance Code
Sections 88-6 . 810, 88-8 . 1402, and 88-9 . 1004 to remove durational
limits on political sign posting prior to an election.
SECTION II . Section 88-6 .810 of the County Ordinance Code is
amended to read:
88-6 . 810 Political Campaign Advertising . Political signs
. may be erected or displayed before an election until ten days
after the election inclusive. These signs may not be erected in
the right-of-way of any state highway, county highway or public
road or street.

SECTION III . Section 88-8 . 1402 of the County Ordinance Code is
is amended to read:
88-8 . 1402 Time Limits . Political signs may be erected
or displayed before an election until ten days after the
election, inclusive.

SECTION IV. Section 88-9 . 1004 of the County Ordinance Code is
amended to read:
88-9 . 1004 Political Sian Time Limits . Political signs
may be erected or displayed before an election until ten days
after the election, inclusive.

SECTION V. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance becomes effective 30
days after passage, and within 15 days after passage shall be
published once with the names of supervisors voting for and
against it in the Contra Costa Times a newspaper published in
this County.
