ABSENT: ABSTAIN: /�/J f� ATTESTED V "� JOHN CULLEN,CLERK OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AND COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR Contact Person: CC: VALERIE EARLEY EHSD CONTRACTS UNIT-EM COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR AUDITOR-CONTROLLER CONTRACTOR O BY: DEPUTY SiBJECT: Contract with Center for Human Development to Provide Services Promoting Safe and Stable Families This contract supports five of the community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: 1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; 2) "Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood"; 3) "Families that are Economically Self Sufficient"; 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing"; and 5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families," by providing services that strengthen and support children and their families. BACKGROUND: Promoting Safe and Stable Families Program (PSSF) is a federally-funded program that provides collaborative, community-based services to strengthen families and communities and help prevent child abuse and neglect. PSSF provides multilingual services to clients who demonstrate the highest levels of poverty, unemployment, child abuse and neglect, and is designed to support families and prevent entry into the child welfare system. The Center for Human Development (CHD)was selected from RFP # 1085 to provide a wide array of services in the target community of North Richmond. In a collaborative partnership with Richmond Public Library/Literacy for Every Adult Project (LEAP), CHD will provide services that include a year-round after school program, youth mentoring, adult literacy, and development for at-risk youth. 21-304-26
