REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department is currently involved in a number of projects countywide which require immediate
civil engineering services in order to meet funding deadlines. Some of these projects include Proposition 1B funds
released by the State and approved by voters last fall. After following our standard solicitation and interview
process, Harris & Associates, Inc., was one of 4 firms selected to provide civil engineering services on these
Proposition 1 B projects. Harris&Associates,Inc. will provide design services and engineering expertise in order to
meet the accelerated project schedule for the Camino Tassajara Shoulder Widening, south of Highland Road.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, the design and construction of this county project will be delayed.
