RECOMMENDATION:
ADOPT Resolution Number 2008/3p)regarding compensation and benefits for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)
Public Authority clerical support employees.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No immediate impact fiscal impact. Current IHSS clerical support staff will be eligible for this benefit in FY12/13.
BACKGROUND
Effective 7/1/08, represented clerical employees will begin to receive a Longevity Pay benefit after ten (10) years of
service. In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority has consistently mirrored the benefits of comparable merit
system classifications. This action will allow In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority classifications to continue to
mirror County classifications.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority clerical support classifications will no longer mirror all benefits offered to
comparable merit system classifications.

THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in its capacity as governing Board of the
In-Home Support Services (IHSS) Public Authority RESOLVES THAT:
The employees in the job classifications listed below will receive the following benefits:

81118 PUBLIC AUTH 311 BENEFITS CLERK
Longevity Pay:
Effective July 1, 2008, employees at ten (10) years of appointed service for the In-House Support
Services Public Authority are eligible to receive a two and one-half percent (2.5%) longevity pay
differential as of the first day of the month following the month in which the employee qualifies for the
ten (10) year service award.
The provisions of this Resolution shall apply only to the job classifications listed and to such other classes
in existence as of July 1, 2008 that may have been inadvertently omitted from the table.
