BACKGROUND: As part of the Personnel Services Unit restructuring, it was determined that the role of the Human Resources Consultant should be to act as business partners to all County departments focusing on higher level work such as classification and compensation studies, desk audits, recruit nts, including short a d long term planning. As a result in the shift of duties, the workload of the clerical st ha significantly incre ed as th onsultants are relying more on the clerical staff to process routine paperork a transactions. The other Clerk-Experienced Level will be assigned to the support unit and is responsible for assisting the Consultants and Technical staff in job recruitments, outreach, testing, and providing information to our candidate pool. We are requesting to add these two positions and cancel one Human Resources Consultant position as we feel this is the best possible way to allocate our existing resources. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Failure to approve this Position Adjustment Resolution will jeopardize the County's ability to successfully and efficiently recruit and retain qualified employees, and to process personnel actions in an expeditious manner.
