MADDEN RESOLUTION NO. 2008/365 UPON HIS RETIREMENT WHEREAS, Lloyd Madden received his Bachelors of Arts Degrees from California State University at Fresno and California State University at Hayward, and his graduate work at California State University at Hayward; and WHEREAS, Lloyd Madden began his career in 1971 as the Project Coordinator for the City of Richmond Model Cities Program and in 1981 became the Executive Director of the Neighborhood House of North Richmond; and WHEREAS, In 1986 Lloyd began his career with Contra Costa County Human Resources Department as the Personnel Services Supervisor and in 1999, became the Workforce Services Specialist of the Employment and Human Services Department; and WHEREAS, Lloyd Madden's devotion to community and youth has gone far above the call of duty-, a partial list of his active involvement includes his Life Membership in the NAACP, having served as the Richmond Branch President, the Police Activities League Board of Directors, North Richmond Center for Health Advisory Board, City of Richmond Career Fair and Youth Information Day Planning Committee, the Richmond Unified School District SPEL Project, the Contra Costa County Black Employees Association President, and a member of the Hercules Rotary Club; and WHEREAS, Lloyd Madden's accomplishments have been richly rewarded, he has received the Contra Costa County Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian of the Year Award, Congressman George Miller Achievement Award Recipient, NAACP Richmond Branch President's Award Recipient, Contra Costa College Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient, United Way of the Bay Area Achievement Award Recipient and the Davis Chapel CME Church Men of God Chorus Member of the Year Recipient. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors congratulates and thanks 0.4 For his many years of dedication to the people of Contra Costa County.
