FISCAL IMPACT: Costs are funded through the Property Internal Service Fund. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION: On September 27, 2007, the Martinez Detention Facility suffered significant water damage. The matter was referred to CSAC Excess Insurance Authority as a property damage claim. The insurance carrier assigned the property repairs to Balfor Property Restoration. A total of $460,135.94 has been paid by the insurance company to Balfor Property Restoration. A Partial Proof of Loss has been executed and the County must pay the $50,000 deductible to Balfor Property Restoration. The remaining monies will be paid by the insurance carrier and a Total Proof of Loss will be executed.
