Against Domestic Violence for Domesti Violence Information Services SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with STAND! Against Domestic Violence, a non-profit corporation, effective June 30, 2008 to increase the payment limit by $82,333 to a new payment limit of$332,333 and extend the term from June 30, 2008 to October 31, 2008 to provide domestic violence information and services to California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CaIWORKs) applicants and recipients. Against Domestic Violence for Domestic Violence Information Services CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This contract supports all of the community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: 1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; 2) "Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood"; 3) "Families that are Economically Self Sufficient"; 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing"; and 5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families." BACKGROUND: STAND! Against Domestic Violence provides a wide array of domestic violence services, tailored to meet the specific needs of the Workforce Services Bureau. Services include CalWORKs domestic violence liaisons at four Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) offices, technical assistance, consultation, and domestic violence identification and skills training; on-site capacity building and linkages for domestic violence victims to community resources. This contract amendment will enable Stand! Against Domestic Violence to continue providing domestic violence services while EHSD completes the competitive bidding process for domestic violence services. 21-714-8
