DATE: May 23, 2008 °°'Ta `� County SUBJECT: Approval of Contract#25-049-5 with Anka Behavioral Health, Incorporated SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDAT[ON(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner, M.D.) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract#25-049-5 with Anka Behavioral Health, Incorporated, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $483,398, to provide housing assistance services for County's Homeless Program, for the period from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% Federal McKinney-Vento Grant. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that it provides support services to County residents that are homeless and have a diagnosis of mental illness or a dual-diagnosis of mental illness and substance abuse. On September 18, 2007, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #25-049-4 with Anka Behavioral Health, Incorporated, for the period from October 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008, for _the provision of housing assistance services. Approval of Contract #25-049-5 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide services through June 30, 2009.
