SUBJECT: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract
amendment with Zentner and Zentner, Countywide. (48% Flood Control & Water Conservation
District, 48% Local Road, and 4% Airport Project Funds) (Ali Districts) Project No.: Various
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with
Zentner and Zentner, effective June 17, 2008, to increase the payment limit by$50,000 to a new payment limit of
$120,000 and extend the term from June 30, 2008 to February 28, 2009 to continue to provide on call
environmental assessment services for various projects.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no impact to the County General Fund. This project is funded by 48% Flood Control & Water
Conservation District, 48% Local Road, and 4%Airport Project Funds.

REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
The amendment to the Consulting Services Agreement is needed to assist Public Works Department staff in
obtaining environmental clearances for various projects. The Public Works Department wishes to continue to work
with this firm to maintain consistency for several ongoing projects.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the Consulting Services Agreement is not amended, various projects will be delayed in obtaining the required
permits causing delays in their construction and/or repair.
