FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no impact to the County General Fund. The funds being provided are part of Contra Costa County's share
of the Safe Neighborhood Parks,Clean Water,Clean Air,and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2000(Proposition 12)
Per Capita Program (100%).
BACKGROUND AND REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS:
In 2005, Contra Costa County Public Works agreed to support Crockett Recreation Association as it undertook a
renovation project involving the Crockett Community Center and the adjacent Alexander Park. These
renovations, ultimately costing$892,215,provided ADA improvements, new patio area, a trash enclosure and
additional outdoor lighting. A new gazebo and walkway were funded primarily through a portion of Contra
Costa County's Proposition 12 Per Capita grant allocation. The amount committed to this project by the County
is $11,000.
Subsequent to the agreement by the County to contribute Proposition 12 Per Capita funds, reorganization
occurred, resulting in the formation of Crockett Community Services District and the District's acquisition of
Crockett Community Center and Alexander Park. Therefore the funds will be issued to Crockett Community
Services District.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Crockett Community Center and Alexander Park project will not receive the funds committed to it by
Contra Costa County.
