SUBJECT: Contract with Family Caregiver Alliance for the Older American's Act, Title
III-E Family Caregiver Provider Program
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to
execute contracts with Family Caregiver Alliance in an amount not to exceed $148,000 for Older
American's Act, Title III-E Family Caregiver Provider Program services in support of older adults
and their caregivers and families for the period July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$148,000: 100% Federal Older American's Act, Title III-E Funding (93 .05 2
)
BACKGROUND:
The contract provide services.to support older adults and their caregivers and families. Services
include, but are not limited to, respite,1 educational training, counseling, h /modification, and

SUBJECT: Contract with Family,Caregiver Alliance for the Older American's Act, Title
III-E Family Caregiver Provider Program
assisted living devices. Support is also provided to grandparents and relative caregivers
providing temporary or permanent custody to a minor child or children.
Contractor was selected through the open bid process and approved by the Contra Costa
County Advisory Council on Aging. The services are reflected in the Contra Costa County Area
Agency on Aging (AAA) Plan.
