LANGO, DIRECTOR OF GENERAL SERVICES °' °a COSTA DATE: MAY 6, 2008 ��S �h COUNTY SUBJECT: SECOND AMENDMENT TO LEASE FOR THE PREMISES AT 1200 CENTRAL BOULEVARD, SUITE B, BRENTWOOD FOR THE SUPERVISOR, DISTRICT III (T00623, CP # 08-15) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION 1. APPROVE a Second Amendment to Lease, commencing April 16, 2008, and ending October 15, 2008, with HPH Properties, L.,P., dba Equus Group, for 991 square feet of office space located at 1200 Central Boulevard, Suite B, Brentwood, at a rent of $1,440 per month for continued occupancy by the Supervisor, District III, under the terms and conditions more particularly set forth in the Second Amendment to Lease. 2. AUTHORIZE the Director of General Services, or designee, to EXECUTE the Second Amendment to Lease on behalf of the County. 3. DETERMINE that the project is a Class 1, Section 15301 Categorical Exemption under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). 4. DIRECT the Director of Community Development, or designee, to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk, and DIRECT the Director of General Services, or designee, to arrange for the payment of the handling fees to the Community Development Department and County Clerk for filing of the Notice of Exemption. FINANCIAL IMPACT The Second Amendment to Lease will obligate the County to pay a total rent of approximately $8,640 over the six.-month extension of the term. The Second Amendment to Lease was anticipated and budgeted in the Supervisor, District III's approved FY 2007/2008 budget. BACKGROUND The County has leased the premises since October 2001. This Second Amendment to Lease will provide for the continued use of the office space by the Supervi o District III.
