These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County. BACKGROUND: On November 27, 2007 the Board approved the FY 2008 Head Start Delegate Agency contract with First Baptist Church of Pittsburg. This contract provides early care and education services to 257 program eligible children ages three (3) to five (5) years in Pittsburg. This amendment seeks to include revisions to the contract termination language from the 2007-08 Head Start Act. The termination clause now includes: "The Head Start agencies may not terminate a delegate agency's contract or reduce a delegate agency's service area without showing cause or demonstrating the cost-effectiveness of such a decision." The Special Conditions of the current contract will be amended to include the new language.
