RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20561, to add one (1) permanent part-time (20/40) Fingerprint Technician II (64VH)
position at salary level VN5 1234 ($3,554-4,320) as recommended by the Assistant County Administrator-Director of Human
Resources.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of $50,858.87 and 100% funded from the Regional Access Network (RAN)
funds.
BACKGROUND:
The Office of the Sheriff is requesting the addition of this part-time position to provide additional fingerprint technical support to the
Central Identification Services Unit due to an increase of workload.

Subject: P-300 to Add One (1) Permanent Part –Time (20/40) Fingerprint Technician
II (64VH)
The Office of the Sheriff requests the attached P-300 be approved in order to add one
(1) Permanent Part -Time (20/40) Fingerprint Technician II position and allocate to the
salary schedule.
Central Identification Services (CIS) currently has 20 staff members handling an
extremely large workload. The CIS Unit is a 24-hour a day operation and the staff
processes an extensive amount of work.
Since September 1999, a temporary Fingerprint Technician has been employed to
handle workload and staffing fluctuations. The needs of the operation have increased to
the point that a permanent part-time employee is needed to supplement current staffing
levels.
Costs associated with establishing a permanent part-time position will be fully offset by
cancellation of the current tgmporary Fingerprint Technician and from funding from the
Regi ma ccess Network RAN funck RAN Board minutes approving the re oca Ion of
fun In Is ransactlon are attached. The funding sources for the CAL-ID program are
independent from County funds.

processing and placement on the Board of Supervisor's agenda, as appropriate. If you
