SUBJECT: CONTRACT AMENDMENT WITH DARWIN MYERS ASSOCIATES FOR
PLANNING SERVICES (Contract #C46223)(AII Districts)(Amendment #1)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION.
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Director of the Department of Conservation and
Development, or his designee, to execute a contract amendment with Darwin Myers
Associates, effective May 14, 2008 to increase the payment limit of $60,000 by
$80,000 to a new payment limit in the amount not to exceed $140,000, and to extend
the term from June 30, 2008, to June 30, 2009 to provide continual specialized land
use planning services.
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost is covered by revenue received from application fees paid by developers
and applicants.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
Darwin Myers Associates provides planning services for the review and processing
of discretionary permits, such as land use and subdivision projects requiring
compliance with the County Zoning Code, General Plan and various other local,
state and federal regulations. The work provided by Darwin Myers Associates
includes performing reviews to determine compliance with conditions of approval and
preparing initial studies for adequate CEQA assessment of projects submitted by
applicants. The amendment will allow Darwin Myers Associates to continue providing
the services.
