RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20550, to add one (1)$ermanent full-time Cook (1KWA) position at salary level QS5
1059 ($2,989-$3,633) *l$eQ}and cancel one (1) Institutional Services Worker-Lead (1KVF) position # 1281 1JZypA4WiP0at
salary level QS51257($3,636)as recommended by the Assistant.County Administrator-Human Resources Director.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact. The cancellation of the Institutional Services Worker fully offsets the cost of the Cook position.
BACKGROUND:
The Institutional Services Worker-Lead, position #12811 was added in 2005, and has remained vacant. The Department has
determined that this position is no longer needed and adding a full-time Cook position to the Nutrition Services Unit would more
appropriately meet the needs of the department. It is essential to add the Cook position in order to allow the Department to implement
the necessary production procedures to improve the quality.of the Nutrition Services program. This new position will prepare, cook and
serve a variety of foods, and assist in the maintenance of the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center kitchen.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this request is not approved,the Department will not have sufficient staff to maintain the production proce res to im ve the quality
of the Nutrition Services program at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Cente .
